A link on each product’s page allows Amazon shoppers to go to the Sling site to purchase a 3 month subscription to Sling TV service; prepaying for the service, which unfortunately is not refundable if you don’t like it.
Once you pay for your subscription after setting up a Sling TV account, you get a unique Amazon code to use on the Amazon site at checkout. If you put an Amazon Fire TV Stick in your cart and enter your code, you get the Fire TV Stick for FREE!
You also have the option to get the Amazon Fire TV at 50% Off with the same promo code, but you can’t buy more than one device.
Soon after Amazon’s Sling TV deals showed up this morning, Roku got into the game. Roku offered similar deals on the Sling TV site, but not on their own website at the time of this writing.
Links to both the deals pictured can be found at the bottom of the Sling website’s homepage. You can also find links to the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick deals on the Amazon website.
After using Sling TV apps on both my Amazon Fire TV Stick and Roku 3 today, I can say I’m impressed with the service.
While the channels aren’t all my favorites (I’d love to see Bravo and FX join the mix) and it would be fantastic if at some point we could choose our own channels individually – say a basic package with a choice of 10 channels from say 100 basic offerings – it’s still a nice package for live TV that’s not obtained via an over-the-air HDTV antenna.
Cord cutting affords you the freedom of choice. Today, I choose Sling TV with a Mohu HDTV antenna, and I’m happy and saving money. I may change my mind, but the beauty of it is that I’m not locked into a contract, so I can.
Sling TV deals will continue and the service will evolve.
To sweeten the deal, Sling and Amazon are offering a FREE Fire TV Stick or $50 off a Amazon Fire TV with a 3 Month ($60) SlingTV sign-up through the links on the Amazon site; found on each product page.
So is it worth it?
YES! It’s definitely worth a try.
Remember, you can cancel your SlingTV subscription at any time!
The availability of live TV channels that you can’t get over air is a huge draw, particularly the ESPN and ESPN2 channels.
You’re also getting the Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and Hulu Plus apps on the Amazon devices.
All of them come with FREE TRIALS (Amazon 30 days Free with Prime Trial, Netflix 30 Day Free Trial, and Hulu Plus 1 Week Free), and all are on the Amazon Fire TV devices. This makes the combination of a FREE Amazon Fire TV Stick and SlingTV a tough deal to beat.
Quite possibly, with a few low priced subscription fees for streaming services.
If you have a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick with apps for Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus and more…you just might!
If you were thinking about getting either a Amazon streaming device or signing up for SlingTV, this is the time to do it. Truly a sweet deal for Valentine’s Day and a gift that will bring great enjoyment for months, if not years to come.
Can’t decide whether to buy the Fire TV Stick or the Amazon Fire TV?
The Fire TV has a faster quad-core processor, voice search, more memory and the ability to have a wired internet connection. The Fire TV Stick is wireless only, but very fast in my household. It can have voice search if you install the Amazon Fire TV Remote App to your phone or tablet.
NOTE: If you install the Free SlingTV app, you’ll be prompted to accept a Free 14 Day Trial. You cannot use the Amazon Promo IF you’ve already accepted this deal as they both require you to sign up for Sling TV service.
