How To Find IP Address

If you’re looking for an easy, quick way to locate your own IP (Internet Protocol) Address – the numerical location given to your specific computer on a network follow these steps.

Note this method for finding your IP address is for Windows PCs and will show you your entire network and the IPs for  laptop, wireless printer s and  media hubs connected to your network.

  1. If in Windows PC (XP, Vista, 7, 8) go to START, then ACCESSORIES.  Look for COMMAND PROMPT under ACCESSORIES and click it.
  2. A black window will appear and a blinking cursor.  Type in ipconfig/all to the right of the cursor (no spaces) and click enter.  If you want to see the IP address of just the computer you are using, type in ipconfig (leave off ‘all’).
  3. You’ll see all of the IP address information for your network.
