Amazon gets a lot of my business.
They’ve got an incredible array of products, the site is easy to use, they have outstanding customer service and continually strive to improve upon their business from every conceivable angle.
Amazon is ever-changing, but deal trends emerge.
Use these savvy shopping guide tips to save at Amazon every day.
Check the site daily for ‘Gold Box’ Deal of the Day and Lightening Deals.
The Gold Box is an all day deal, or until it sells out – whichever comes first.
Lightening Deals are every hour throughout the day from 6am until 6pm or later, and also run until sold out or the time ends.
During holiday shopping seasons times are extended as more items are offered.
This is especially true during Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving).
Always log-in to Amazon when you arrive at the site.
By logging in upon arrival, you can add things to your cart and then leave the site with the cart still full.
Why do this?
If the price on the item has changed, higher or lower, Amazon lets you know when you go back to your cart – hours, days, weeks, months later.
It’s a great way to watch trends in pricing on an item, and grab it at the price that works for you!
You can put it in ‘Save for Later’ and it works the same way.
Get Freebies on Amazon
The Kindle Store is loaded with free downloads. Cookbooks, textbooks, romance, westerns… you name it!
I’ve loaded my Kindle with Free Kindle books, which I then can share with up to 3 other Kindles.
The other Kindles can be registered to you, or friends you designate in your Account – Manage Kindle settings.
In the Amazon MP3 Music Store it’s the same deal.
Go to Amazon’s ‘MP3 Store’, then scroll to the bottom of the page where it says ‘Browse All Free Albums’ under the ‘Top Free Albums’.
Then it’s just a matter of downloading them to your PC or directly to the Amazon Cloud Player.
Another freebie for Amazon registered customers is 5 GB of FREE cloud storage to upload and store MP3’s, documents, photos, etc… directly from your computer or items purchased on the Amazon site.
This cloud can be accessed from any computer once you log on to your Amazon account.
Compare Buying Options
Amazon Marketplace makes it possible for sellers other than Amazon.com to sell on the site. Multiple sellers often offer different prices for an item. This opens up competition on Amazon for who gets the sale.
To the right of the product description is a heading “More Buying Choices”.
This may give you the option to buy the item new or used from another seller at a better price. Be sure to check those options and the seller’s reputation; read the reviews other buyers have left for the seller, and return policies.
Click on the seller’s name to get to that information.
Once you have looked at all your buying options, you can find the best deal for that specific item.
Read Amazon Reviews
Amazon reviewers are consumers like you and me, who want to share their knowledge of a product and/or their experience with one.
Not all reviews are good, and not all are fair, but over time you learn to skim them and get the gist of what a specific product is and whether it’s liked or not.
Sometimes the reviews are helpful in pointing out things the general description on Amazon misses, which helps you to make an informed purchase .
Ultimately this can save you lots of time and money!
Some reviewers may also offer links to other products that are either less money or of better quality in their opinion.
Amazon Prime is a paid service ($79 a year) that allows you to get free 3-day shipping on most Amazon offerings.
It also gives you FREE unlimited streaming video via Amazon Prime Instant Videos (over 10,000 movie and TV titles at present), FREE best-selling Kindle book rentals and the perks just keep coming!
If you’re lucky though, Amazon Prime is FREE.
How do I get it for free?
Both have specific requirements, but both offer great deals on Prime if you qualify.
Once a member of Amazon Prime you can then send invites to friends and family so they too can have some Prime access.
If you’ve not previously been an Amazon Prime member, you can sign-up for a FREE 1 Month subscription (cancel before month’s end and you won’t be charged).
Lots of perks for very little cash, or maybe even free!
